Welcome

As the oldest private day school in Bellville, Austin County, Texas, St. Mary’s Episcopal Day School remains committed to providing a quality early childhood education to children, who leave the school with an appreciation of learning and a foundation for strong character and leadership skills.

Philosophy

St. Mary’s Episcopal Day School recognizes each child develops differently and at his/her own pace; therefore we focus on the whole child. We are committed to offering a safe, loving, and fun Christian classroom for students to discover, explore, and learn about themselves and the world around them. We present stimulating activities that are developmentally appropriate for each age.

Certification and Licensing

The Southwestern Association of Episcopal Schools (SAES) holds St. Mary’s Episcopal Day School to the same standards that it holds Pre-School-Grade 12 large city schools, including boarding schools accredited by SAES. Episcopal schools accredited or certified by SAES are reviewed annually to assure that the hallmark trait of excellence is found in every SAES school.

Among some of the high standards required by SAES for an Early Childhood program are small teacher/student ratios, designed for optimum supervision and student learning; a qualified teaching staff who holds, where appropriate, a college degree or Child Development Certificate (CDC); and on-going professional training for all teachers throughout the year in addition to an annual SAES conference.

St. Mary's Day School is also licensed as a day care provider by the Texas State Department of Family and Protective Services.
